Victoria Nazarkiewicz - Apparel Line

My project involved the development Di3VERS3, a brand I created which is inclusive to all genders, sizes, ethnicities, and ages. I have completed 6 pieces, each both different and alike, which is in keeping with the theme of my brand. It’s hard to feel like your accepted or that you fit in to society’s standards, but with my hoodies I made colours that corresponded to the size instead of having a tag so that nobody would feel self-conscious about how they look or how a garment fits them. I made an Instagram account that displays all of my pieces, which range in size from small to 5xl. My first few pieces were hand embroidered, but after seeing the results and how much time it took I decided to try different methods such as painting and sewing and I found these approaches worked best and adhered to the material. I also enjoyed this process much more. I created a LEAN fashion canvas so that my designs and hoodies were in line and fit well with Di3VERS3. I have been sourcing my hoodies and crewnecks at apliiq.com and my other materials at Fabricland and Walmart to complete these products. I made a website for my brand where I am going to be selling my products. Through my project I learned quite a bit - from how to start a brand to making a website to production, this experience has taught me tons of valuable lessons about hard work and patience.

After taking this course and achieving and learning as much as I was able to, I now hope to continue with fashion and business. Propel has really guided me in what I would like to do in the coming future and has given me a clear thought of what I want to accomplish and achieve with my brand. It has also given me various options that I would have never explored if I had not done this program. Before coming to Propel, I had felt very burned out and afraid that I wouldn’t be able to choose something and finish it until the very end. However, once I finally started Di3VERS3, I quickly bounced back and felt creatively inspired again. I feel this could be very beneficial because I could really express myself via my clothing line. Di3VERS3 has really helped me understand myself in a way that made me inspired to make different clothing pieces. Making this brand was a huge accomplishment for me because I wanted people who wore my clothing to feel comfortable and good in their skin.
