Children's Book with Clay Illustrations - Sarah
Sarah wrote and illustrated a children’s book that encouraged ”out of the box” problem-solving. Her book tells the tale of Sophia and her younger brother, Tommy, as they try to build the world’s biggest snowman. Once the large balls of snow had been rolled, they face a problem - how do we stack them? Through trial and error, the pair of siblings were able to successfully stack the snowballs that would make the world’s biggest snowman. As a reminder of their accomplishment, a picture of them with the snowman hangs above the mantle.
After completing the story, Sarah began to craft her illustrations from plasticine. She used plasticine to create detailed backgrounds and characters. She edited the photos of her illustrations on her phone using PicsArt.
With the book finished, Sarah toured three schools around Winnipeg, reading her story to first-grade students.
