Throughout my life, I was very interested in many hobbies. The one that stood out for me was cardistry. Cardistry is the art form of shuffling and playing cards in fancy ways. I have been doing cardistry for over 8 years and haven’t contributed much to this very niche community. So, for Propel, I chose to work on many different types of content to put myself out in the community.

During the semester, I designed and printed my custom decks of cards. This was to help me learn about graphic design and improve my hobby and the same time. The deck design I wanted to become a reality was hand-drawn/abstract since I was doing all my ideas on a sketch pad. I also designed a sleeker deck based on another hobby of mine, which collecting is vinyl records.

I also decided to learn about video production to help promote my cards. The content that I produced was short-form videos of me doing cardistry. This part of my project is what I enjoyed the most, learning about all the different components that make up Premiere Pro. My final video “One Man Band” is a showcase of all the skills I have learned in premiere pro as well as a demonstration of all my original cardistry flourishes.
