Maya is thinking about becoming a teacher, so her project was an exploration of a career in the Education field. Maya visited a grade five/six split class at École Van Belleghem once a week for a total of seven times. While visiting, she observed what a day in the life is like and helped in the classroom.
In addition to her visits, she also created a lesson about literary devices in music to present to the students in her classroom. Maya sought out feedback for the lesson from her teachers and peers on many different occasions. The lesson also went through many iterations before the final product was set in stone.
She enjoyed her time at École Van Belleghem very much and will miss her weekly visits. Maya has been accepted into Université de St-Boniface for the Fall 2020 semester. If she decides teaching is for her, Maya will begin her Bachelor of Arts and then go into Education to become a French-Immersion teacher. She has loved every minute of both her years at Propel and is very excited to see what the future holds.
