Kelsen is using his project time to prepare himself for the University of Manitoba entrance audition for the Desautels School of Music. This task requires him to prepare two advanced musical pieces to be performed on his trumpet, and to study music theory to be able to complete the university’s entrance theory exam. Kelsen has performed in front of the Propel class on multiple occasions to both receive feedback and grow more comfortable performing to a smaller audience.
