After demonstrating interest is the areas of poetry and education, Jake decided to explore how poets and songwriters convey a message through language. As a result, his project includes writing spoken word poetry that feeds into teaching a Grade 9 English class about making precise language choices to enhance their writing and speaking skills.
To reach his end product, Jake needed to develop skills in artful writing that would paint a clear picture of what he wanted to communicate to the reader as well as enhancing his skills of engaging students with relevant educational material.
